In March of 2002, the International Standards of Phytosanitary Measures Publication # 15 (ISPM-15) published guidelines on all wood packaging material used in international trade. Commercial Microwave Technology (CMT) is pleased to announce that as of September, 2005 all product shipped from the facility will be fully compliant.

Commercial Microwave Technology (CMT) is pleased to announce that as of 03-01-2006 all products shipped from our facility are designed and manufactured in accordance with the requirements and allowable exemptions of European Directive 2002/96/EC, Annex, Exemption #6) “Lead as an alloying element in steel containing up to 0.35% lead by weight, aluminum containing up to 0.4% lead by weight, and as a copper alloy containing up to 4% lead by weight.” Due to specific model design requirements, some common leaded alloys like Brass or 12L14 alloy will continue to be used in the connectors or internal parts, and are therefore present in CMT products. All leaded alloys used in CMT products conform to the limits set forth in this exemption.

All products are manufactured using lead-free solder unless the P.O. specifically prohibits the use of lead-free solder (U.S. Military applications, typically).

CMT products do not contain chemical levels in excess of the guidelines set forth below. Each of these chemicals have been eliminated by design. A plan for lower tier supplier enforcement of these guidelines is in place, and will be addressed as required on applicable Purchase Orders.

Although de minimis allowable levels of hazardous substances have not been officially defined by the European Union Technical Adaptation Committee (TAC), CMT will continue to manufacture product to the following guidelines:

• Pure Cadmium: Less than 0.01wt% (100 PPM)
• Hexavalent Chromium: Less than 0.1wt% (1000ppm)
• Mercury: Less than 0.1wt% (1000ppm)
• PBDE (polybrominated diphenylethers): Less than 0.1wt% (1000ppm)
• PBB (polybrominated biphenyls) Less than 0.1wt% (1000ppm)
